Roaming Treats: PCMA Takes over Texas

Never before has it ever been so amazing to be a part of this exciting city we call home – Austin, Texas.  The Cupcake Bar was just one of the many fabulous vendors who were able to play a small part of the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) opening reception for its annual Convening Leaders Conference. The theme for the evening was “Austin 365,” showcasing the four annual festivals that take place throughout the year and was planned by the Austin DMC Roundtable.

And, how does the cupcake bar play a part in this exciting production you may ask? The only way we know best – by being interacting, serving goodies and dressing the part!

Ahh spring! The weather starts warming up and everyone gets a week off for SXSW (aka Spring Break)! A tray filled with funfetti cupcakes and candy necklaces carried with a guitar strap was the best to show we are serious about the interactive and music scene, while keeping bellies full.

And then comes summer – just in time for Brew and Que, BBQ that is! While chowing down on finger-licking BBQ and handcrafted beers, our Texas-themed tray couldn’t have wrangled a better pair. Cactus-shaped lollipops and habanero pralines were just a couple of the sweet treats guests cheered for.

Finally comes fall – the leaves change, the air gets a little cooler and the Austin City Limits (ACL) Festival takes the main stage. Our cupcake gal greeted guests in a plaid button-up topped with a trucker hat blending right in with the ACL scene. On this fun tray, we wanted to keep things playful yet delicious, as we served cupcakes, ring pops and swizzle sticks making everyone feel like a kid again.

Over 4,000 event professionals from sales to production teams were able to truly experience the “Live Music Capital of the World,” proving once again that his face-paced city has so much to offer.
