Meet The Team

  • Lori S.

    CHIEF CELEBRATION OFFICER

Spend more than five seconds interacting with Lori and you’ll soon realize three things: 1-her enthusiasm is highly contagious; 2-confetti is her favorite color; and 3-her commitment to The Cupcake Bar, our team, our clients, and our community runs deep.

      • Each day, she ensures TCB puts forth our best and lives up to our vision and standards as a company. She’s also the mastermind behind our custom gifting solutions and small batch gift collections, and she loves that we get to help people tell their stories through celebrations. Whether it’s a big wedding, an employee gifting experience, or sharing in a virtual class, she knows it’s an honor to bring people together through joyful moments. That, she says, is something truly special.

Before starting The Cupcake Bar in 2007, Lori graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Nutritional Sciences and a BS in Food Science and Technology. After starting her professional career as Director of R&D for Schlotzsky’s, she received her AOS in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu Austin. She LOVES to travel, try new restaurants, watch her son play ice hockey, and spend time with her family.

(By the way, she’s an Enneagram 7, which you can tell by her endless supply of positive energy and colorful shoes.)

Favorite TCB sweet treat: Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate buttercream and loads of gold shimmer. Extra glitter, please!

  • Kimberly K.

    DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Behind every successful TCB experience is the heartbeat of our team: our Director of Operations, Kim. From event logistics to to community outreach, Kim handles many of the behind-the-scenes details with a genuine desire to provide the best service possible.

      • Her meticulous planning and organizational skills help us put smiles on people’s faces day after day, year after year, event after event. She also has a knack for organizing fun moments for the Cupcake Squad (we can confirm that her annual Galentine’s Day Brunch is out of this world), and as an Enneagram 9, her capacity to truly care for our team and our clients knows no limits.

Before coming to The Cupcake Bar, Kim received her Bachelors in Business Management from Texas State University and worked as an event coordinator for 7 years. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her dogs Dean and Winchester, hang out with her husband Greg, watch tv, and catch up with friends.

Favorite TCB sweet treat: Gluten-sensitive Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate buttercream and gold sprinkles

  • Alexa B.

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Alexa takes great pride in being the longest-tenured Cupcake Bartender on staff, having joined the team back in 2010 when we relied on printed MapQuest directions to navigate to event venues. Technology has come a long way since then.

      • These days, she manages The Cupcake Bar’s virtual classes (and teaches many of them) and is one of the creative forces behind the company. From designing custom gifting collateral to creating content, she loves having so many opportunities to help make TCB clients’ experiences extra special.

Alexa received her BA in English from Texas A&M University. Prior to working at The Cupcake Bar, she taught middle school for nearly a decade, where she always had a captive audience for her corny puns, and where her calm nature–she’s an Enneagram 9–often came in handy.

When she’s not working, you might find her traveling, playing board games, or treasure hunting at her favorite local thrift stores.

Favorite TCB sweet treat: It’s a tie: Red Velvet cupcake with Mocha buttercream and a Caramel Apple (Granny Smith, please), rolled in gold shimmer sprinkles.

  • Jessica K.

    MARKETING DIRECTOR

Meet our highly fabulous and highly fashionable content and social media guru, Jessica! If she’s not working her magic on the socials, you might find her teaching one of our classes or keeping us on track (as the sole Enneagram 3 on staff, we need her motivating energy!).

      • Legend has it that she worked as a Cupcake Bartender as an undergrad and then rejoined our team a decade later. “Once you’re a part of the crew,” she says, “you never want to leave…and that’s entirely due to the atmosphere that Lori and the rest of the amazing team have created over the years!” (Excuse us while we refill our tissue box.)

After graduating from the University of Texas with a BA in Advertising, Jessica worked as a wedding planner and spent time in the corporate and nonprofit gala world. From there, she worked in house planning events for a social media-driven company, and most recently, she helped open a winery in Spicewood, TX.

She loves relaxing on the couch with her pup and binging a show or two with her hubs– she’s secretly a homebody! You might also find her enjoying brunch with friends, spending quality time with her family, or dreaming up her next travel adventure.

Favorite TCB treat: Red Velvet cupcake with Cream Cheese icing. Sprinkles level: minimum; Disco Dust level: maximum.

  • Yuri C.

    DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS

Yuri, our mover and shaker extraordinaire, wears many hats at The Cupcake Bar, and she wears them all VERY well. In addition to helping coordinate all things shipping, she consistently knocks it out of the park with her event design and product photography skills.

      • An Enneagram 4, she’s a fantastic problem solver who inspires us daily with her creativity and compassion. She loves how the Cupcake Squad empowers one another and truly strives to elevate each client’s experience from start to finish.

She’s been a professional photographer for 16 years (and counting), and she brings over 20 years of business management experience to the TCB team. Yuri loves spending time with her family and friends, going on outdoor adventures and road trips, and capturing all the moments for posterity (hence the 39,000+ photos on her phone).

Looking for a great recommendation for a murder mystery podcast or TV show? Yuri’s got you covered.

Favorite TCB sweet treat: Cookie Decorating Kit or Red Velvet cupcake with Cream Cheese icing and cute sprinkles!

  • Leah B.

    OFFICE MANAGER

As you might have guessed, we all take our glitter VERY seriously around here, but the undisputed Queen of Bling among us is Leah, our Office Manager. Leah adds her sparkle to just about every element of TCB, from operations to production to event design.

      • An Enneagram 2 through and through, she’s always willing to help out wherever she’s needed, and her giant heart is as obvious as her love for the New Orleans Saints. She thrives in the exciting atmosphere at TCB’s headquarters, where there are always new ideas popping up and no two days are ever the same.

Leah has an extensive, 20+ year professional background in the Austin hospitality industry, where she gained experience in meeting planning, transportation coordinating, and conference management. When she’s not working, you might find her spending time with family, traveling, and cheering on the Black and Gold. Who Dat?

Favorite TCB Treat: Our curated candy boards (especially when they contain extra sour gummies)
