UPDATE: Texas Strong, Austin Proud!

In the aftermath of the historic winter 2021 ice storm, we were reminded time and again of why we’ve got big love for our city. We’ve been inspired by so many of our fellow Austinites who’ve lent a helping hand during some of the most difficult circumstances we’ve ever faced.

At The Cupcake Bar, we’ve been honored to do our part to help pick up the pieces from the devastation. Although the storm has passed, we know Austin will still be hurting for many weeks to come. To help sustain the healing process, we held a fundraiser and a food drive to benefit the Central Texas Food Bank.

In an effort to help, we donated 100% of the proceeds from a special 4-pack of cupcakes to the food bank, and those who purchased the cupcakes could also opt to donate them to local grocery employees, healthcare workers, or first responders. And on April 1, we delivered them to these hometown heroes to thank them for their hard work during the crazy storm!

Thanks to the generous support from our community, we were able to raise $3,025 in donations, plus over 20 pounds of non-perishable food items, for the food bank. Every $25 we raised will create 100 meals here in Central Texas--which means that because of YOU, we’ll be able to provide more than 12,100 meals!

Every act of kindness and generosity, big or small, has made a difference, and we're so proud to belong to such a giving, supportive, and selfless community. A special thanks to Daybreak Games, who made a generous contribution, and local blogger Shruti Babu, who held her own fundraiser and contributed over $1,000 of the money she raised to our drive.

Stay safe, y’all, and keep being the amazing, supportive, and wonderful community you are!
