Three local companies join forces to celebrate. After receiving more than 1,200 fan votes in a two-week online poll, SafePlace wins a fundraiser hosted by The Cupcake Bar, Uptown Valet and The Allan House.

The event will be a Big Birthday Bash celebrating The Cupcake Bar and Uptown Valet's five years in business and The Allan House's 130th anniversary.

The winner of the poll, SafePlace, is a nonprofit that provides a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, and counseling services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. SafePlace is committed to ending sexual and domestic abuse, and offers community education, training, and advocacy programs to achieve that goal.

The Big Birthday Bash will be at The Allan House from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. The goal is to raise $5,000 in honor of SafePlace through ticket sales, a silent auction and individual donations.

Sponsors at the event will be Word of Mouth Catering, The Photo Toaster, Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, Fireman's 4 Beer, Texas Pro DJ and live painting by Hannah Lee.
