The Cupcake Bar, Uptown Valet and The Allan House raised over $6,000 at their Big Birthday Bash this year, surpassing their initial donation goal of $5,000. All of the funds raised by the event were given to local nonprofit SafePlace to help its mission of ending sexual and domestic violence in the Austin area.
The Big Birthday Bash was held at The Allan House on May 8 to celebrate The Cupcake Bar and Uptown Valet turning five this year and The Allan House celebrating its 130th birthday.
The event raised funds through ticket sales, a silent auction and personal donations. The first 100 guests who purchased a ticket to the Big Birthday Bash and donated $10 to SafePlace received a swag bag equipped with a piece of Kendra Scott jewelry, goodies from Milk + Honey Spa and Dolce Blu, and much more.
"The Bash was a perfect way to spend our 5th birthday. We love giving back to the community who has given so much to us," said Lori Schneider, owner of The Cupcake Bar. "None of this would have been possible without the amazing support from the participating vendors and our guests. We are so fortunate to be in a city that supports small, locally owned businesses!"
