Celebrating is our favorite thing to do here at The Cupcake Bar. What can make that even sweeter? When one of our own invites us to be a part of their big day! That’s why we were thrilled and honored to be a part of Izzy and David’s wedding last year.
Izzy was a member of the Cupcake Squad when she was in college and will forever be a part of our cupcake family. Her big heart, caring nature, and sunny disposition touch everyone who knows her. So when she and David, our favorite Austin meteorologist, came to us for a wedding dessert experience, we couldn’t say yes fast enough! We are so thankful that this remarkable couple trusted us to serve up some sweet treats for their friends and family.
It’s said that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and we know that this couple can weather any storm. The November rain and cold was no match for this glowing couple on their wedding day. The love shared between these two is enough to warm everyone’s hearts!
Take it from David, who expressed just how special their celebration was. "After months planning an outdoor wedding on the lake during a month that's typically dry and warm, we were instead served the second-coldest Nov. 19 in Austin history and rain all day,” he says. “But moving it indoors by the fireplaces proved to be cozy and intimate, and made the evening even more unforgettable. We had special connections to all of our vendors, and were excited to have Izzy's former workplace provide the delicious desserts."
For dessert, Izzy and David celebrated their love for each other (and cupcakes) with our classic Cupcake Bar service. This twist on a traditional wedding cake allowed their guests to choose their favorite flavors in a sweet treat made for them.
The menu included Red Velvet, Funfetti, Tres Leches, and Strawberry cupcakes along with sweet toppings, including Kinder Buenos–Izzy’s favorite! Izzy and David sunk their teeth in as they shared first bites of their wedding cupcakes.
We may not be meteorologists, but we can safely say that the forecast for this love story is happily ever after! Congratulations, Izzy and David! We were so honored to be a part of your celebration, and we wish you both the absolute best!
